Guide

The guide to writing a powerful launch.

The Truth Well Told!

Being the home to learn about all new things requires everyone to be smart and thoughtful writers. The Launch.it community expects you to provide high quality (updatable) stories that they will find beneficial and will motivate them to return often for fast, reliable, and accurate information about what’s new.

Your customers are looking for honest, benefit-driven product stories (please not a press release) so that they will follow you and your brand in the future.

Please Note The Following Guidelines:

  • Please write in a direct, concise, readable style.
  • Should not be written as a press release
  • Should not contain promotional content. Do your best to tell your story without hyperbole but with a rich set of facts and supportive evidence.
  • Should not attempt to disparage your competitors
  • Must not contain any profanity or pornographic material
  • Please do not submit rehashed content
  • Format the editorial page in the way you would be proud of
  • Article must be written using proper English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, capitalization and sentence structure.
  • You can make your story as long and as interesting as necessary.

Launch.it Responsibility

Launch.it’s quality control process is designed to bring benefits to all readers by removing material from the site that is harmful to anyone involved. This includes phony or malicious launches, some obscene launches, spoof launches, launches posted by automatic bots, or launches designed to mislead the customer in any way.

Launcher Responsibility

Launchers have a simple goal in mind: get the word out to your social networks, get the launch seen and publicized by the media. By focusing the content on launches that are new, rather than simply serving as a bulletin board for rants, reviews, and nonsense, Launch.it's editorial service will bring value to the launcher by giving them a clean, uncluttered space to present all aspects of their launch.

Readers (Discoverers)

The editorial function is probably mostly beneficial for the readers of the site, or the end consumers and the target audience of the launch. These people are coming to the site specifically so they can look around for what is new in an easily understandable, easily organizable, and easily digestible way. We want to make sure they are actually getting what they want out of the site. Happy readers mean happy launchers as well.

Editorial Content Tags

It is critically important that a discoverer be able to find his way around the site easily and seamlessly, and with a minimum of getting lost or not knowing where to find what they are looking for.  For this reason, it is vital that your launches are appropriately tagged such that when people begin to use Launch.it's filtering technologies, the desired launches will appear to them.  Much of this will be taken care of by launchers when they post their launches.

However, there is a risk that launchers will either make mistakes in appropriately tagging their launches, or will too broadly tag their launches in order to appear in more places within Launch.it. Remember that the value in Launch.it comes not only from the presence of a large number of launches, but also in the ease with which the reader can comb through those launches to find something they are interested in, or, equally importantly, the clarity with which a reader can browse through portions of the site that might not be of active interest to them.
